Community Advisory Committees

CACs are community volunteer advocates appointed by their County Commissioners. The Regional Ombudsman program supports and trains CACs as they regularly visit facilities to become familiar with residents and facility operation. There are Nursing Home and Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committees in every county that has a Nursing Home or Adult Care Home. The committee’s primary function is to maintain the spirit of the Nursing Home and Adult Care Home Patients’ Bill of Rights.

For more information about how to become a CAC, contact your county Ombudsman.
